How To Turn Your Antique Shop In To A Profitable Business - Blog Edition

I hope that you have read my articles on WorthPoint.com with the same title as this blog post. Here is Part 2 of the article - http://www.worthpoint.com/article/how-turn-antique-shop-profitable-business-part-2 , but I have so much to say on this subject that I decided I needed to add additional points here on the blog so that I can move on to other topics in my WorthPoint.com articles.

Too many antique shop owners, especially live store front owners are not treating their business as a true money making business. I get the impression that the attitude is "if we build it they will come" in a sense this is true but do you just want to get by or do you REALLY LOVE what you are doing and want to make it a success, you will be the expert, the go to shop for all that is antique and collectible.

I opt for the go to shop owner myself and that is why I have been successful in my chosen field as an antique dealer for over 25 years. I am not wealthy by any means but I love sharing my knowledge and sharing my wonderful finds.

Preparing for a Short Shopping / Road Trip

Dear hubby has taken this week off of work and along with the usually 'honey dos' that I have planned for him he proposed a one day short trip. I picked Atchison, Kansas, it is only about 90 miles from home so we can get on the road by 9:00 a.m. and my first antique shop stop is only about 45 miles up the road.

I will take photos and tell you all about my great finds, the ones I purchase and the ones I wish I could purchase.

Until later....
